Khalil (Private) Limited launched a new Division in 2006, under the name and style of Viking Sea Cruises, (VSC). The aim and function of this new Division is to cater to requirements of the general public as well as the corporate sector by providing safe and secure boats for recreation.

VSC has already procured from Dubai, U.A.E., four extremely safe and robust fiberglass boats with Internal Buoyancy Cubic Capacity of 8.89 cubic meters, making the boats virtually unsinkable.

The boats have the following specifications:

• LOA        : 11.00 meters

• Breadth  : 4.20 meters

• Depth     : 1.62 meters.

The boats are fully equipped with lifejackets for adults and children, as well as having L.S.A (life saving appliances) and F.F.A (fire fighting appliances). Trash receptacles are also provided on the boats, to ensure that the sea environment is not polluted thereby encouraging the public to think ‘green’.

Out of the four (4) extremely safe and strong fiberglass boats, three (3) boats are catering to the general public. Viking Sea Cruises Division has already taken off very successfully and has completed a three (3) months contract with Callmate Telips, a leading Telecard Company, for branding and giving free rides to the card users of Callmate Telips, for five hours daily of the Karachi Harbour.

Very shortly these rides will be made right up to the KPT Port Fountain, as well as other popular sight seeing spots. These three (3) boats are used for giving rides to the young and old, to go out to sea and carry sixty (60) people each.

The fourth boat has been modified in Karachi and transformed into sophisticated Luxury Cruiser. It caters to the requirements of the higher-end market. It is being out-fitted with split-level air-conditioners, flat screen television and other assorted luxuries, due to which it generates great demand. By this marketing mix, we propose to cater to the needs and requirements of the different segments of society and in the process create an awareness of the sea, in all the visitors who enjoy boat rides.

Viking Sea Cruises wants to promote its activities to the general public, therefore cooperation and close connections with the local community is very important for us. VSC is collaborating with educational institutions such as, primary schools, high schools, vocational schools and universities, on almost all levels. Healthy youth activities are very important to us. Boats are available for recreation, classes, and rental reservations.

KPL is a responsible corporate entity and keeps its social responsibilities towards the community in view at all times. As such, free boat rides are provided to special children (from orphanages and different NGO’s). Our boats will also serve as a special service to these children and will add value to our social commitment.
